Mushrooms are one of the most nutritious foods known to us.They provide the nutritional benefits of both vegetables as well as meat, beans or grains.
They are low in calories, fat free, cholestrol free and very low in sodium. Yet they provide very important nutrients for our body.
Mushrooms is one big favourite at home for all of us, so once a week I make mushroom curry in different styles.
This recipe is the "Konkani style curry" known as "Mushroom Bhutthi".
Ingredients :
Mushrooms - 200 gms
coconut/dessicated coconut - 1 cup grated
coriander seeds raw - 1 tsp
fried red chilli - 5
tamarind - 1 small piece
Oil - 1 tsp
Onions - 2
Method:
Wash and clean the mushrooms well, and cut them as desired.
Grind coconut along with raw coriander seeds, tamarind and fried red chillies and keep aside.
Finely chop onions and divide into 2 portions.
1st portion wth 1/4 amount of onions, and the 2nd portion with 3/4th amount of the onions.
Take a pan, add oil, fry 1/4th portion of onions and fry till golden brown.
Now add the remaining onions and fry till soft and lightly translucent.
Now add the ground masala, then mushrooms and cook for 2-5 mins since mushrooms cook very fast.
"Mushroom Bhutthi" is ready.
