Rice Kesari Bhath (Sweet Saffron Rice)

This is my grandmom's and mom's favorite dessert. They make it on most occasions at home.  But today I have made it to celebrate my Bhayya's and Bhabhi's wedding anniversary and my Bhabhi's birthday.
This is a very easy and quick dessert especially when you have guests at home.
Ingredients:
Basmathi rice -1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Green cardamom or Elaichi - 4 ( finely powdered)
Clove - 1
Roasted Cashew nuts - 10
Raisins/Kishmish - 10
Saffron or Kesar - 3-4 strands soaked in water

Method:
Take a heavy bottomed pan or cooker. Keep on low heat, add 1 tbsp ghee, fry clove along with the washed and dried basmathi rice. Fry for 5 minutes or until the rice is translucent.
Add 2 cups water and saffron water and cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the rice is just cooked.
Now transfer to a heavy bottomed pan, add sugar and rest of the ghee and stir well, till all the sugar is dissolved and ghee begins to float. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Garnish with roasted cashews and kishmish/raisins.
