"Surnali" or Sweet Dosa/Pancakes - A Konkani Breakfast delicacy

"Surnali" or Sweet Dosa/Pancakes is a very popular Konkani Breakfast delicacy.
Easy to make and loved by all!

Makes 12-15
Ingredients:
Rice - 1 cup
Urad dal - 1 handful
Poha/Beaten rice - 1 handful - washed
Coconut grated fresh/desiccated - 1/2 cup
Jaggery - grated - 1 cup or more as required
Salt to taste
Tumeric powder - 1 tsp
Sour Buttermilk - 1 cup or Ash gourd/Watermelon white part - 1 cup

Method:
Soak Urad dal and rice for 3-4 hrs. Wash them well and grind together along with coconut, beaten rice, salt, turmeric powder and sour buttermilk or Ashgourd/watermelon. Add grated jaggery and mix well till the jaggery dissolves. Do not add any water.
Consistency of the batter should be like regular dosa batter.
This batter should be kept overnight to ferment.
If its winter, keep the vessel with the batter in a warm cooker or warm oven overnight so that the batter is well fermented.
Next morning, take a dosa tawa/pan, and make dosas like any other dosa.
Make sure the heat is very low, this dosa should not be turned over, and has to be covered with a lid to cook it well.
Serve hot with butter or ghee.
