Hoisin Stir Fry Vegetables
This dish is a simple Stir fry using Chinese Hoisin sauce...
Goes well with fried rice or noodles...
Serves 3
Ingredients:
Mushrooms - chopped - 1 cup
Green peas - par boiled - 1/4 cup
Carrots - cubed and par boiled - 1/4 cup
Spring onions - 1 bunch - finely chopped
Ginger - 1 inch - finely sliced
Hoisin sauce - 2 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Chinese 5 spice powder - 1 tbsp (Optional)
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Method:
Take a heavy bottomed pan or Chinese wok , keep on high heat, add the ginger slices and chopped spring onions and stir fry for about 2-3 minutes. Add in the hoisin sauce, lemon juice, chinese 5 spice powder and fry for about 1 minute. Now add the mushrooms, carrots and green peas and stir fry on high heat for 3-5 minutes.
Taste the dish and add salt only if required.
Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
