"Missi Roti"/ Wheat n Gram flour Indian Bread - A Punjabi delicacy


"Missi Roti" is another Punjabi delicacy....loved by all of us.
This one one Indian bread which makes for a quick breakfast dish, lunch box option or a simple dinner. It also goes well with all dals and curries as well as simple curd raitha.



Makes 10
Ingredients:
Gram flour/Besan - 1 cup
Wheat flour/Atta - 2 cups
Onion - 1 - finely chopped
Oil/Melted ghee - 2 tbsp ( Optional - required for authentic taste - you could do without it too )
Salt - 1 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 2 pinches
Ajwain - 1 tsp
Anaardana/Pomegranate seeds - whole or pounded - 1 tsp ( Optional - but required for authentic taste)
Kasoori methi/dried fenugreek leaves - 1 tbsp ( Optional - but required for authentic taste)

Method:
Mix both the flours, add all the other ingredients and knead to a smooth dough same consistency as chapatis.
Cover and keep aside for atleast 30 minutes.
Divide into 10 balls, Roll each ball into slightly thick chapati. Cook it on hot tawa on both sides, but when half done, roast both sides on open flame or fire.
Serve with butter and curds.
