Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate is one of the most favorite food and flavour across the world. Studies show that eating chocolate, primarily dark chocolate, may contribute to improved cardiovascular health. Packed with natural antioxidants, dark chocolate and cocoa are as good as green tea and blueberries. Chocolate is made from plants, which means it contains many of the health benefits of dark vegetables.
I have made this mousse after trying out several recipes and making my own modifications. Now a big favorite at home especially with my daughter. Hence, I am sharing this with everyone who loves chocolate, very easy to make and takes just 10-15 mins for preparation.
This dessert is a good party dessert, since its easy to make and can be made upto 8-10 hrs prior to the party.
Also since its served in separate glasses or bowls, serving is also easy and mess free.

Ingredients:
Soft unsalted butter - 100 gm
Good Dark Chocolate - 200 gm - chopped into small pieces
Hot water - 50 ml
Fresh Double/Thick Cream - 100 gm
Egg whites - of 2 eggs  (Optional but gives better texture)
Sugar - 1 tbsp
chocolate shavings/Strawberries - to garnish
Method:
Put the butter, chocolate and water in a heavy-based saucepan. I have used dark chocolate with nuts.
Put the saucepan on on low heat, and melt the contents,
stirring every now and then.
Once the mixture is smooth and even, remove from heat and keep aside.

Whip the egg whites separately till thick and foamy.
Now whip the cream until thick, and then fold into the cooling chocolate mixture.
Now add the egg whites and the cream and mix until you have a smooth, cohesive mixture. Pour into glasses of your choice. Chill for a atleast 2 hours in the refrigerator before serving.
Garnish with chocolate shavings or strawberries and cream.
