Egg Ghee Roast - A Mangalorean delicacy

A very famous egg dish in the Mangalore region, is the "Egg Ghee Roast".
Its one of the tastiest starters I have known, easy to make, but yes completely cooked in ghee so I make this only once a month.
After the famous Mangalore "Thuppa Dosa or Ghee pancakes, this is another indulgence one should give into while visiting Mangalore and surrounding places.
There are lot of restaurants both big and small which serve this delicacy.
The chicken version of this dish is so popular now, that it is served in most speciality restaurants not just in Mangalore but also in other cities.
However the egg version is a really "easy to make" starter, so trying making it at home, am sure you will love it.

Sweet Upma or "Go'd Rulav" in Konkani

Sweet Upma or "Go'd Rulav" is a quick to make evening snack or breakfast dish.
This dish does not contain onion or garlic like the traditional South Indian Semolina Upma/Khara Bath, hence made for breakfast during festivals.
Also, no ground spices are added to it, so the only spice that comes thru is that of the green and red chilly. There is some amount of sweetness that comes from the sugar and coconut, hence kids love it. I learnt this from my Mom and love eating it as an evening snack during winter.

Masala French Toast

"Masala French Toast" is my twist to the regular sweet french toast which we all know.
I have been making these almost every week for the past several years, but from the time I started my blog, I have not managed to click a picture of this dish.
The reason is quite simple, every time a few of these toasts are off the pan, they are goggled up by my husband and daughter and last but not the least by the one who is making them.. u guessed right....ME!!
So somehow not been able to present them in a serving dish and take a picture.
However today I decided to make it as a mid-morning snack for my daughter as she has study hols, and while she was studying made these and clicked a picture...
Couldn't keep my hands off them, but somehow did manage...
So here goes, a simple, tasty and healthy snack but for those who return home after a long and tiring day at work, this could work as a meal itself...
Also one of the simplest dishes for beginner at cooking or a single person living alone!!

Paneer Burji (Scrambled Cottage Cheese)

Another Paneer dish, which is easy to make....
wondering why I am posting another paneer dish so soon, cause I know most of us love Paneer especially kids.
I remember having this dish, every other day in the Punjabi Dhaba near my workplace in 2003-2004.
We were a big group of collegues who used to haunt this place for buttery aloo paratas which were served with Paneer Burji.
On one such days, I ventured into their tiny kitchen to see how this was made.
They used lot more chillies than I have done in the recipe, but trust me it tastes great even with those extra green chillies.

Quick n Easy Peppy Paneer

I remember in my childhood that the best thing about getting back home after school,  was my seeing my mom's smiling face when she opened the door ready to greet me.
The next best thing was the lovely aroma of the evening snack.
There are loads of evening snacks which my mom made which I will be posting shortly.
I however have continued this tradition of making different snacks for my daughter when she returns from school.
On one such day I realized not having anything else in the refrigerator except Paneer.
So created, an evening snack of Paneer, in Indo-Italian style.
After eating this felt really pepped up so called it "Peppy Paneer"
