"Moonga Ghashi" - Whole green gram curry - A Konkani dish
Its been a while since I posted a new dish. Life is pretty hectic after having got back to work. Its fun at the new workplace, making new friends, learning a new/different work culture, learning my new job, juggling between home and an office which is 26 kms/1.5 hrs one way drive from home...but am enjoying every bit of my new life...
Now that its been 4 months am slowly getting back to the groove...of being the same old super-woman who used to manage home, office work and my lil kitchen life all so well..
In the last 3 months cooking for my family is been an integral part of my life just like everything else, but I must admit I have not tried cooking any new dish in the last 3 months.
The easiest and most liked dish is what I have been cooking...the obvious reason being time...
but now I have settled down and decided that whatever it may be, cooking is a passion for me, like I always say "When I am in the kitchen, I am happy"...
Last night I made this simple traditional curry called "Moonga Ghashi' in Konkani.
Its a very easy dish to make, and does not require any pre-preparation, perfect for working men/women. When served with steaming white rice, your meal is complete.

Here is a simple, easy to make infact an Instant sort of Mango pickle that goes well with Rotis or any type of Indian bread.
Its a favorite among kids since its sweet.
This pickle can be consumed immediately after making it, or stored in the refrigerator and used for upto a week.

Sweet Upma or "Go'd Rulav" in Konkani
Sweet Upma or "Go'd Rulav" is a quick to make evening snack or breakfast dish.
This dish does not contain onion or garlic like the traditional South Indian Semolina Upma/Khara Bath, hence made for breakfast during festivals.
Also, no ground spices are added to it, so the only spice that comes thru is that of the green and red chilly. There is some amount of sweetness that comes from the sugar and coconut, hence kids love it. I learnt this from my Mom and love eating it as an evening snack during winter.

Masala French Toast
"Masala French Toast" is my twist to the regular sweet french toast which we all know.
I have been making these almost every week for the past several years, but from the time I started my blog, I have not managed to click a picture of this dish.
The reason is quite simple, every time a few of these toasts are off the pan, they are goggled up by my husband and daughter and last but not the least by the one who is making them.. u guessed right....ME!!
So somehow not been able to present them in a serving dish and take a picture.
However today I decided to make it as a mid-morning snack for my daughter as she has study hols, and while she was studying made these and clicked a picture...
Couldn't keep my hands off them, but somehow did manage...
So here goes, a simple, tasty and healthy snack but for those who return home after a long and tiring day at work, this could work as a meal itself...
Also one of the simplest dishes for beginner at cooking or a single person living alone!!

Quick n Easy Peppy Paneer
I remember in my childhood that the best thing about getting back home after school, was my seeing my mom's smiling face when she opened the door ready to greet me.
The next best thing was the lovely aroma of the evening snack.
There are loads of evening snacks which my mom made which I will be posting shortly.
I however have continued this tradition of making different snacks for my daughter when she returns from school.
On one such day I realized not having anything else in the refrigerator except Paneer.
So created, an evening snack of Paneer, in Indo-Italian style.
After eating this felt really pepped up so called it "Peppy Paneer"
