Dish #407 - Avocado & Mango Salsa

Avocados are a creamy, buttery fruit grown in warm climates and often enjoyed in Mexican and South American cuisine.
Last weekend we had been to Coorg, and my friend gave me some fresh Avocados grown in their own estate...In India its commonly known as "Butter fruit"
Also known as an alligator pear or butter fruit, the versatile avocado is the only fruit that provides a substantial amount of monounsaturated fat (the healthy kind). Avocados are a naturally nutrient-dense food and contain nearly 20 vitamins and minerals.
The avocado is a rather unique type of fruit.
Most fruit consists primarily of carbohydrate, while avocado is high in healthy fats.
These days, the avocado has become an incredibly popular food among health conscious individuals. It is often referred to as a "Super food"… which is not surprising given its health properties.
I personally love Avocado milkshake but now I decided to try some new dishes with them.
This dish is the first of them and incredibly delicious. This Salsa can be eaten by itself or served as a side dish with any grilled vegetable or sea food.

Mango Lassi (Mango Yoghurt Smoothie)

A refreshing and healthy drink from mangoes and yoghurt...
Mangoes are very much beneficial for people suffering from acidity and its enzymes helps to relieve indigestion problems.
Mangoes are useful to children who lack concentration in studies as it contains Glutamine acid which is good to boost memory and keep cells active.
Mango is slowly gaining new acclaim as diabetes fighter. Earlier there was a myth that people with diabetes should not eat mangoes but that’s not true. Not only the fruit the leaves also fight against diabetes. Before going to bed put some 10 or 15 mango leaves in warm water and close it with lid. Next day morning filter the water and drink it in empty stomach. Do this regularly.

Mango Salsa

Here is the recipe of my favourite evening snack during the mango season..."Mango Salsa"
This spicy, sweet, fruity blend of fresh ingredients will turn any dish into an exciting new favorite.
It tastes great with grilled vegetables, fish or meat, but I make it mostly as an evening snack.

Raw Mango Chilli Chutney (Mango Chilli Sandwich Spread)

Raw Mango, with salt and chilli powder brings back childhood school memories.
The mango season has just begun, specifically RAW MANGOES.
This spread/chutney I learnt from my childhood friend's mom, who used to live next door.
She would make this chutney and spread it along with butter on sandwiches.
I still cannot forget the taste of the yummy sandwiches she would make.
This dish has 2 variants :
Variant 1.  A spread for Sandwiches.
Variant 2. the traditional Indian chutney eaten with rice, rotis, dosa.
