Macchli Ka Pakora


"Macchli Ka Pakora" is simply deep fried fish dipped in gram flour batter served with Mint chutney.
The perfect snack for a rainy evening....!
Simple to make and lip smacking...!!


Serves 3
Ingredients:
Fish fillet - 400 gms ( cut into big chunks/cubes) ( any firm fish like Sea Bass, Salmon)
Gram flour - 200 gms
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Black salt - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Oil - for deep frying
Coriander leaves - chopped - 1 handful
To serve:
Mint chutney
Method:
Wash the fish fillets and drain all excess water, gently pat dry with a kitchen towel if required.
Marinate these fish chunks with salt, red chilly powder, turmeric powder and black salt and keep aside in the refrigerator (fridge section not freezer), for atleast 20 minutes.
Meanwhile make a batter ( of regular dosa/dipping consistency), using gram flour, salt, asafoetida and coriander leaves.
Now take a heavy bottomed deep frying pan, add oil and heat it oil is very hot.
Dip the marinated fish chunks into the batter and deep fry on medium heat until golden brown, around 3-5 minutes.
Drain on absorbent kitchen towel.
Serve hot with mint chutney.
