Celebrating My 300th Post on "Makara Sankranthi Festival" with "Gova kane ani chane dali Go'd khichidi" or Broken Wheat and Split chickpeas dessert

"Gova kane ani chane dali Go'd khichidi" or Broken Wheat and Split chickpeas dessert is normally made during festivals during "Sankranthi" festival.
Its easy to make....
Like most Konkani/South Indian desserts, this khichidi is best served with ghee...
My Mom is an expert at making this, and recently I learnt from her.
Serves 5
Ingredients:
Chana dal/Split chickpeas - 1 cup
Daliya/Broken wheat - 1 cup
Sugar - 2 cups
Water - 4 cups
Coconut grated fresh/desiccated - 1 cup
Elaichi/Green cardamom - peeled and seeds powdered - 1 tsp
Ghee/Clarified butter - 1/4 cup

Method:
Wash chana dal and daliya well and drain.
Add 4 cups water to this chana dal and daliya and cook them together in a cooker for about 10-15 minutes till soft.
Now take a heavy bottomed pan, keep on medium heat, add boiled chana dal and daliya, then add the coconut, ghee, sugar and green cardamom powder, and keep stirring and mixing till all the ingredients are well combined and thick.
You can switch off the heat, once the ghee begins to separate.
Serve it immediately with lots of ghee...!
