Kane Rava Fry (Lady Fish Semolina fry)

Kane also known as "Lady Fish" is very popular in the Konkan coast of Karnataka.
This dish is a another favourite among the fish eating community.
I am putting up this recipe on the request of some of my close friends who not only encouraged me to start this blog, but are also followers to my blog.

Ingredients :
Kane or Lady fish - 4
Red Chilli powder - 1 tbsp (or as per taste)
Hing/Asofoetida - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Cocum/tamarind juice - 1 tsp
salt to taste
Rava/Semolina - 2 tbsp
Olive oil - 2 tbsp (coconut oil should be used for getting authentic taste)
Garnishing with Sliced onion and Lemon

Method :
Wash and clean the fish.
Make a paste of the Red chilli powder, salt, hing, cocum and coriander powder.
Apply evenly on the fish and keep in the fridge for atleast 2 hrs.
For frying:
Remove the marinated fish from fridge.
Coat evenly with Rava on all sides.
Take a frying pan, add 2 tbsp of oil, just enough to cover one half of the fish.
When the oil is hot, fry the fish in it, turning it over once in 2 mins till its golden crisp on the outside and soft and cooked inside.
Serve with raw onion rings and lemon.
