Deep Fried Crabs
"Deep fried crabs", truly mouth-watering in every way......
Serves 3
Ingredients:
Crabs - 5 - cut into halves
Rice flour
Red Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 handful
Salt
For seasoning:
Oil - 1 tsp
Garlic - 5 cloves - peeled - whole
Curry leaves - 1 handful
Grated coconut - 1 handful
Method:
Take a large bowl, make a batter of rice flour, coriander powder, red chilly powder, cumin powder, curry leaves, salt and 1/2 cup water. Batter consistency should be just be like regular dosa batter.
Now wash the crab and pat dry with a towel to remove water content.
Take a plate, put some rice flour, roll the crabs in rice flour and dip the crabs in the batter, then deep fry till golden.
Now arrange the fried crabs in a plate.
Take a seasoning pan, keep on low heat, add oil, fry the garlic cloves till lightly golden, add the grated coconut and fry till golden, then add curry leaves and fry for 30 seconds.
Garnish the fried crabs with this seasoning.
Serve hot.
