Mooga Dali Kosambari (Moong Dal or Green gram Salad)

A salad served in most south Indian brahmin functions, and also distributed as "prasadam" in temples, this salad is one of the most popular side dish in South India.
Moong dal or green beans provide great source of complex carbohydrates, fiber and protein.
Regular consumption of green beans helps to reduce cholesterol since they are rich in fibre.

Serves 3
Ingredients :
Moong Dal or Mung bean deskinned - 50 gms
Green chilli - 1
Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp chopped
Grated carrot - 2 tbsp ( optional)
Lime juice - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
For Seasoning :
Dry red chilli - 1
oil - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 4
mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Method :
Soak the moong dal for around 4 hrs.
Drain the water and keep aside.
Take a large bowl, add the moong dal, chopped green chillies, grated carrot, chopped coriander leaves, lime juice and salt and mix well.
Now take a seasoning pan, keep on low heat, add oil and then mustard seeds, when they crackle add cut red chilies and curry leaves. When the crackle add them to the bowl with the moong dal mixture.
Moong Dal Salad is ready.
