Honey Spice drink

Here is a drink made of Honey, Cinnamon and Cloves which is just right for the change in season from summer to monsoon.
The weather here in Bangalore has suddenly got cooler, a relief from the long summer we had this time. But along with this beautiful cool weather comes the common health problems like cold and cough.
Here is a drink made of lukewarm honey water mixed with cinnamon powder and cloves to help boost your immune system during the cold season. It may also help to clear your sinuses.

The combination of honey and cinnamon has been used in both oriental and Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to mankind and honey's popularity has continued throughout history. The two ingredients with unique healing abilities have a long history as a home remedy. Cinnamon's essential oils and honey's enzyme that produces hydrogen peroxide qualify the two "anti-microbial" foods with the ability to help stop the growth of bacteria as well as fungi.
Because of the antiseptic and germicidal benefits of cloves, they help fight infections like cold, flu, bronchitis, arthritic pain and athlete’s foot.

Serves 1
Ingredients:
Water - 1 glass
Honey - 1 tsp
Cloves - 4
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp or whole cinnamon - 1 inch piece

Take a saucepan, add 1/2 cup water and boil it along with the cloves for 2 minutes. If you are use whole cinnamon add it along with the cloves.
Now switch off the heat and add the remaining water and the honey. Add cinnamon powder now if you are using powder instead of whole cinnamon.
Mix well.
Strain and serve lukewarm during rainy or winter season.
